Zoe Ellis Obituary

Zoe W. Ellis, loved by a host of family & friends. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Lucas Memorial Chapel 9010 Garfield Blvd. in Garfield Hts., Ohio

Zoe Stella Ellis was born on March 29, 1958 to Joyce Ellis and the late Jake W Jones.  Jake Jones later married Bernice Jones and she considered her (her bonus Mom); they had a very close bond until Zoe’s death.  She was the eldest of eight children having six brothers and one sister.

She grew up in Cleveland Ohio and Graduated from Glenville High School. She attended College in Cincinnati obtaining her Certification as a Court Reporter and later obtained her Certification in Criminal Justice from Bryant and Stratton.

Zoe spent her early adult career in security and later years she was a personal assistant to the owners of the Gund Arena and Quicken Loans Arena.

She was the Proud and Loving mother of Taheasha and Kenneth Dontae’ Ellis. She loved spending time with her family and found joy in playing cards, video and board games with her family.  Her family was so important to her and she did not take them for granted, she was known as protector and a rock . She was the best listener and a great person to get advice from; she was wiser than her years.  Zoe had a smile that would light up a room and her laugh was positively infectious. She knew GOD and had a personal relation with her Lord.

In late 2022 Zoe was diagnosed with cancer and won that battle in March of 2023. On May 9th she was called home to Heaven.

She leaves to cherish her children Taheasha and Kenneth, 6 grandchildren, both of her Mothers Joyce and Bernice, Her sister Shaellene, Brothers Lester, Maurice and Mark. Host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She was proceeded in death by her Grandmother (Minnie), Father Jake Jones, Brothers Rayford, Victor and Christopher.

Let Stella memory live on FOREVER, we LOVE you. You will be missed but NEVER forgotten.
