In Loving Memory of Marie Nell Brown 

Marie Nell Brown, born on January 21, 1944, passed away on May 7th, 2026. A proud graduate of East High School, Class of '62. Leaving high school gathering a part time job of one of the first black designers of Bloomingdales fashion.

Marie then pursued her passion for nutrition, earning a degree that led her to a fulfilling career at Huron Hospital. She retired early at the age of 55, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and care.

A kind spirit who would help anyone in need. A guitarist and Gospel singer of the Christian travellers and the Soul searchers in the mid 70's

Marie was a devoted mother to her two children, Robin Brown and Roland Brown Jr., and a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: Joz'Lynn Brown, Camren Brown, Collin Brown, and Armahn Batiste. She shared a unique bond with her best friend, Ethelene Folks, and cherished her nephew, James Folks.

Marie is remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love for scratch-off lottery tickets, and her enthusiasm for shopping. She fought tirelessly for her children and friends, embodying beauty, brilliance, and strength. With a heart full of joy, she would dance like no one was watching, bringing laughter and light wherever she went.

Marie Nell Brown will be truly missed by family and friends alike.
