Kimberly Lauren Wilson Obituary

Kimberly Lauren Wilson was born on December 6, 1964, in Sacramento, CA, to Eleanor Williams and John Smith. She was lovingly raised by her mother, Eleanor, and her maternal grandparents, Annie C. Williams and Wilburn Williams.

As an only child, Kimberly shared a close and cherished bond with her family, whose love and support shaped the woman she became. Kimberly was a proud graduate of Beaumont School in Cleveland, OH, where she formed lifelong friendships and memories. She continued her education at Ohio University, where she studied Fashion Merchandising. She later continued her education, earning a Master’s in Business Administration that supported her career in purchasing.

Kimberly was also a Kappa Sweetheart, a cherished group from her college days that added to the richness of her university experience. At Ohio University, she also met Derek Wilson, and together they built a family and created lasting memories. Though their paths later diverged, Kimberly remained a devoted mother, finding her greatest joy in nurturing her children—Linley, Justin, and Carley Wilson—and her beloved grandchildren: Janiyah Wilson, Kyrie Palmer, and David 'Lennox' Sulemon.

She was filled with joy, embracing life fully with a spirit of independence and a deep commitment to family, love, and living a happy, fulfilling life. Later in life, Kimberly reconnected with her father, John Smith, and joyfully embraced her extended family, forming treasured relationships with her siblings and nephew in recent years.

Outside of her career, Kimberly found joy in life's simple and beautiful pleasures. She loved discovering good food, traveling with her children, attending her grandchildren’s sports events, and cheering them on with pride. She cherished spending time with her beloved cousins, sharing laughter, memories, and a close family bond that she deeply valued. In Atlanta, she immersed herself in the city’s food festivals and participated in local meet-up group activities, where she made lasting friendships and continued to create joyful experiences. Kimberly’s compassion, listening heart, and unwavering kindness touched everyone she met — not only her family, but also her children's friends, who grew to love and admire her as a mother figure and trusted confidante. Her home and her heart were always open to others. As a loving mother, grandmother, and loyal friend, Kimberly leaves behind a lasting legacy of grace, resilience, and deep, abiding love. Her spirit will continue to live on in all those who were blessed to know her.

Graveside services will take place Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 12 noon at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Bedford Heights, OH.
