Jason Duale Williams, 27, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully following an illness, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. He was born on January 21, 1998, to the late Jeffrey Duale Williams, Sr., and the late Candice Dawn Martin.

Raised primarily by his grandmother, Joyce Williams, Jason attended Villa Angela–St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, graduating in 2016. An avid athlete, he played basketball throughout much of his high school career and was known for his fierce competitive spirit. His big brother Jeffrey fondly recalls, “He had so much heart. I was in the backyard whooping him game after game—six in a row. He kept asking for a rematch. It got up to eight or nine games in a row, and I was tired of beating him. I let him play one more, and he won. He was so hyped—jumping on me, celebrating like he’d just won a championship.”

After graduation, Jason worked in various roles before finding his true calling at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, where he served with dedication, compassion, and pride until his passing.

Jason was preceded in death by his beloved parents. He leaves to treasure his memory his stepfather, Steven Martin; grandparents Lawrence and Juanita Lingo, and Joyce Williams; aunts and uncles Gina, Tina, Brandi, Mike, Jerry, Ron, Chelsea and Sam; and siblings James Nix III, Jonathan Kazy, Mia Ortiz, Thomasine Gayton, Stephen Kazy, Jeffrey Williams Jr., Joshua Williams, Aaron Martin, and Jacob Rinier. Jason also shared an unbreakable bond with his many cousins, who were more like siblings, and with countless friends who became family, including his best friend since grade school, Sean.

Jason’s warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone who knew him. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of his loved ones, but his spirit will forever live on through the stories, laughter, and love he so freely gave. His family vows to keep his memory alive for generations to come.
