Harold Carl Miles was born on May 28, 1935 in Canton, Ohio. He passed away on Sunday, November 20,
2022 at home after a three-year illness. His parents, stepfather, brother and sister all preceded him in
death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 43 years Sharon Denise Miles and his daughter Ashley
Denise Miles of New York, NY as well as a host of treasured friends and relatives.
He was employed 33 years in a variety of endeavors for the Cleveland City School until his retirement in
1986. He demonstrated his lifelong passion for education and The Ohio State University by becoming a
member of the University’s President’s Club in 1975. The following year he established the Harold C.
Miles Graduate Fellowship which continues to award monies to deserving students in education
annually. He attended basketball and football games both home and away until his health began to fail.
His services will be private. His final resting place will be at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio
so he can continue to cheer on his Buckeyes. OH-IO!
