Elliott didn’t just live—he grooved his way through life. If cool was a person, it would have been him. Elliott was a father, husband, brother, cousin, friend, professional joint roller and unofficial Wii champion.
He left us recently, in body, but not in spirit. That spirit—loving and fiercely loyal will be sticking around for a long time.
Elliott loved his wife, Vicki, with the kind of steady love you don't see much anymore. The kind where you ride out the waves together—no matter how choppy. Together, they built a life rooted in laughter, respect, and real love.
To his twins, Maleke and Maleah, he was part dad, part coach, part life commentator. He taught them to stand tall, stay strong, take care of each other and to work hard for the things that they want out of life.
He attended Glenville High School and spent his working years at the Northeast Ohio Sewer District alongside his great friends, keeping the city running in a job that few thank but everyone relies on. He retired with pride at the age of 50, but let’s be honest, retirement just meant more time for First Take, beach days, and deep cuts from Jean Luc Ponty.
Elliott found joy in the smooth notes of jazz music, the smoky air of late-night casinos, and the electric energy of a Cavs comeback. He didn’t do small talk—he did real talk.
He wasn’t here for long speeches or fake feelings. He kept it real. So in his honor, spark one up, turn the volume up, and bet on the Cavs. Live a little louder. Laugh a little harder. And when the Cavs win again—because they will—know that Elliott called it first.
To his family that he left behind, his loving and devoted wife Vicki; his twins and greatest gifts Maleke & Maleah; his fur babies Biggie & Smalls; his siblings Michael (Margo); Deborah (Wendell); Cheryl (Mike); Sisters in Law Cynthia, Cece, Sabrina & Terri; Uncle Bubba and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, he’s gone from the room, but the music’s still playing. He didn’t just live a life. He lived HIS life. He did it his way until the end. And we’re all better for it. And in heaven, along with his parents, Yancey & Maxine and his brother Carl, Elliott’s whistling to perfection, right on beat.
