Our beloved, Eldridge Elie Jr., was born on August 14, 1946 in Cebu City, Philippines.
He was the first child to Eldridge Elie Sr. and Pamfila Dacayana. At two years old,
Eldridge (affectionately known as Junior/Joon), journeyed from the Philippines with
his mother to be joined with his father in Cleveland, Ohio.

At an early age, Brother Elie was baptized into the Church of Christ. He attended
and served in several congregations over the years during the time he lived in both
Cleveland and Atlanta. Most recently, he was an active member at the Church of
Christ at Center Road.

The majority of his childhood was lived on the Westside. He participated on the
wrestling team at John Marshall High before transferring to John Adams High School
where he graduated. Joon enlisted into the Air Force and served in the Vietnam
War. When he ended his military service, Joon returned to Ohio and resumed his
construction career.

For years he worked with Elie & Sons Construction founded by his father before
establishing his own company, Elie Construction. Proudly ensuring that it was a family
business, Joon included his sons and daughters, along with other relatives. Over the last
few years, Joon trained and worked with his oldest grandchild, Brittani, who he desired
to carry-on the Elie Construction legacy.

Being true to his carpentry roots, Joon began “building” his family with his two sons
Roberto and Ricardo and his daughter, Dawn. Joon welcomed four more daughters
Maleeka, Acoria, Petronilla and Lauriana during his 34 year marriage with Johnnal
Thompson. After moving to Atlanta in 2006, he married his high school sweetheart,
Delores Love. He resided in Georgia for 15 years before returning back home to Ohio
where he desired to spend more time with his loved ones and life-long friends.

Joon was undoubtedly one-of-a-kind. He enjoyed tending to his yard, writing prayers
that he had hoped to publish, spending time with his grand and great-grand children,
as well as socializing with his friends both old and new. Joon loved wearing western
attire and dreamed of living his retired life on his own ranch raising alpacas. He
lived a very full and active life encompassed with love and laughter. He will truly be
remembered and missed by many.
